The Indian cricket team is facing heavy criticism after suffering a shocking 2-0 T20I series defeat against Ireland. While the unexpected series loss itself has disappointed fans, an even bigger talking point has been the decision to keep young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on the bench throughout the series.

Fans Slams Teamindia Top order Batting

Many fans believe India's poor batting was the main reason behind the defeat and argue that the result could have been different had Vaibhav been given an opportunity. As criticism of the team management continues to grow, another debate has emerged — Vaibhav Sooryavanshi vs Sanju Samson.

After Sanju Samson failed to make an impact in both T20Is against Ireland, several fans have demanded that Vaibhav should replace him in the playing XI. With India set to face England in a five-match T20I series next, supporters and former cricketers alike are urging the team management to hand the youngster his debut.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar believes Vaibhav has already shown remarkable maturity for his age and feels he could trouble England if given an opportunity. Gavaskar also pointed out that England's bowlers have very little knowledge of Vaibhav's batting style, which could allow the youngster to make an immediate impact before the opposition is able to plan against him.

Vaibhav vs Sanju Debate Continues

However, India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has dismissed the growing calls to replace Samson with Vaibhav. Speaking about the youngster's chances, he said everyone knows Vaibhav is ready to play, but like every young cricketer, he must wait for his opportunity.

He also made it clear that the team cannot simply drop World Cup winner Sanju Samson to accommodate Vaibhav. His comments have led many fans to believe that Vaibhav may not make his debut in the opening matches of the England series either.

The assistant coach also stated that India has enough depth in the bowling department and that the team management will use players according to the conditions and match requirements.

Despite that, the excitement surrounding Vaibhav continues to grow. After impressing everyone with his explosive batting in the IPL, he earned a place in the India A squad and produced a match-winning performance in the final of that tournament. Although he was included in India's squad for the Ireland series, he did not get a place in the playing XI.

Fans are now eagerly waiting to see whether he finally gets his international debut during the England series. However, based on the assistant coach's latest comments, Vaibhav's wait for his first appearance in Indian colours could continue a little longer.
