Hardik Pandya's IPL future has become one of the biggest talking points ahead of the next season. Over the past few days, several reports have claimed that the Mumbai Indians captain could leave the franchise, with Chennai Super Kings emerging as one of the frontrunners to sign the star all-rounder.

However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has now put those rumors to rest for the time being.

Speaking on the growing speculation, Viswanathan dismissed reports of a Hardik-to-CSK trade, saying that no such discussions have taken place. He revealed that Chennai Super Kings have not even conducted their post-season review yet, adding that the franchise will only begin planning for the next IPL after the conclusion of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) season. He also clarified that CSK has not held any talks with either Hardik Pandya or the Mumbai Indians management regarding a possible transfer. His comments directly contradict the recent wave of reports linking the Indian all-rounder with a move to Chennai.

Seven Teams Reportedly Monitoring Hardik's Situation

Even though CSK has denied the speculation, reports continue to suggest that Hardik remains one of the most sought-after players in the IPL. According to multiple reports, as many as seven franchises are interested in acquiring the Mumbai Indians skipper if he becomes available.

Initially, Chennai Super Kings were believed to be leading the race. Following the CEO's clarification, however, attention has shifted to other franchises. Rajasthan Royals have reportedly joined the list of interested teams, while Kolkata Knight Riders are also said to be exploring the possibility of signing the Indian all-rounder.

Meanwhile, reports claiming that Hardik has relocated from Mumbai to Bengaluru have only added fuel to the speculation surrounding his future. Although there is no official confirmation that the move is related to his IPL plans, it has triggered fresh discussions about whether he is preparing for a new chapter away from Mumbai Indians.

Interestingly, reports suggest that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are unlikely to enter the race because both franchises already possess enough all-round options in their squads. If Hardik does become available, the remaining interested franchises are expected to pursue him either through a player trade or at the IPL auction, depending on the league's regulations.

Why Is Hardik Being Linked With an Exit From Mumbai Indians?

Hardik Pandya's IPL career began with Mumbai Indians, where he established himself as one of the league's premier all-rounders. But after returning to the franchise as captain, his second stint has been surrounded by constant scrutiny.

Mumbai Indians endured another disappointing IPL campaign under Hardik's leadership, leading to intense speculation about the team's future. Reports have suggested that there were divisions within the dressing room, while Hardik also continued to face criticism from a section of the fan base after replacing Rohit Sharma as captain. None of these claims have been officially confirmed by the franchise or the players involved, but they have remained a major part of the conversation throughout the season.

The speculation has been further strengthened by reports that Hardik has shifted his base to Bengaluru, close to the BCCI Centre of Excellence. While the reason behind the move has not been officially disclosed, many believe it could indicate a fresh start both personally and professionally.

For now, however, there is no confirmation that Hardik Pandya will leave Mumbai Indians. Both CSK and Mumbai Indians have denied holding trade discussions, making it clear that the current buzz is driven by speculation rather than any official negotiations. Until the franchises begin their post-season planning, Hardik's IPL future is likely to remain one of the biggest talking points in Indian cricket.
