Suryakumar Yadav Set for T201 Comeback?

Suryakumar Yadav has currently lost his place in the Indian team. Despite leading India to the T20 World Cup title earlier this year, he was dropped due to poor form. However, recent developments suggest that he could have another opportunity to return to the national side.

According to reports, India has suffered back-to-back defeats in two T20I series, leading to heavy criticism of captain Shreyas Iyer. The team's performances have also raised concerns about its overall strength. As a result, there are reports that the BCCI is considering bringing back the World Cup-winning captain.

A BCCI official reportedly said that Suryakumar would need to perform well in domestic cricket to earn another chance in the Indian team. Although he is currently not in the selectors' plans, consistent performances in the domestic circuit could put him back in contention. This has raised hopes of a comeback, but Suryakumar will have to work hard to regain his form.

Shreyas' Poor Record as Captain

After India's T20 World Cup triumph, the team toured Ireland under a new captain. Instead of retaining the World Cup-winning skipper, the BCCI appointed Shreyas Iyer as India's new T20I captain, impressed by his leadership in the IPL over the past three seasons.

However, India's tour of Ireland turned out to be disappointing. The team lost both T20Is and suffered its first-ever T20I series defeat against Ireland. This resulted in widespread criticism of Shreyas Iyer's captaincy. Both Shreyas and the coaching staff defended the losses, citing difficult playing conditions.

The criticism intensified after India was whitewashed in the subsequent T20I series against England. The first match was washed out due to rain, and India lost the remaining four games without putting up much resistance. These back-to-back poor results angered cricket fans, and reports suggest that the BCCI is also reviewing the performance of the coaching staff.

With no wins in two consecutive T20I series under Shreyas' captaincy, criticism has continued to grow. Reports indicate that the BCCI is now looking again at the World Cup-winning captain.

Suryakumar was dropped mainly because of his poor form, but under his leadership India enjoyed remarkable success. The team won the T20 World Cup and lost only three matches in two years. If he regains his form, the BCCI is reportedly willing to consider bringing him back.

Another reason is Shreyas Iyer's disappointing captaincy record. He has captained India in seven matches, with one ending in a no-result, while India lost all six completed games. These results have reportedly prompted the BCCI to reconsider its previous captain. It remains to be seen how Suryakumar responds and whether he can earn a place back in the Indian team through strong performances.
