Having impressed at the junior level, Vaibhav is now set to take the next big step in his career by representing the Indian national team.
Today BCCI announced the Team India's squads for Ireland and England and will also participate in the Asian Games. The selectors have included the teenage sensation in the squads for all three assignments. As a result, Vaibhav is set to create history by representing India at just 15 years of age.
In the IPL 2026 season, Vaibhav emerged as a key batter for the Rajasthan Royals. He played several match-winning knocks and often carried the team with his performances. His remarkable success at such a young age has left cricket fans and experts amazed.
Following the squad announcement, chief selector Ajit Agarkar praised Vaibhav during a press conference. Agarkar described him as a “game-changer” who can alter the course of a match at any moment. According to Agarkar, that is why he was selected for all three tours.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has reportedly granted permission for Vaibhav’s parents to accompany him on the overseas tours, providing additional support as he embarks on this exciting new chapter of his cricketing journey.
