India's young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is currently playing in the tri-series being held in Sri Lanka. However, representing India A, Vaibhav has not performed particularly well in the tournament so far. He managed to score only 44 runs in the second match, while failing to make a significant impact in the other two games.
In the most recent match against Sri Lanka, he scored just 21 runs off 14 balls, once again disappointing fans and selectors. Moreover, during the Super Over, he was unable to play the big shots needed, and in a match that was filled with twists and turns, India eventually ended up losing.
Will Vaibhav any ban from ICC
However, an incident after the match has now become a major talking point. While the Sri Lankan team was celebrating its Super Over victory, some Sri Lankan players allegedly said something to the Indian batters as they were heading back to the dugout. In response, Vaibhav appeared to move toward and attempt to push a Sri Lankan player. Fortunately, senior players nearby intervened and prevented the situation from escalating further.
This incident has raised concerns about whether it could create problems for Vaibhav. Since there was apparent physical contact or an attempt at physical confrontation with another player, some are speculating whether the ICC might take disciplinary action against him. However, since this was an A-team tour rather than an official senior international series, any punishment, if imposed, is expected to be relatively minor.
As a result, he may still remain in contention for making his international debut during the upcoming England series. Meanwhile, videos of the altercation have gone viral on social media and are being widely discussed by cricket fans.
